A Rich History

The story of Nichols Library began over a century ago with a generous $10,000 bequest from Professor James Nichols, who wished to ensure that no child in Naperville would be without books. The original library opened its doors on September 22, 1898, serving a population of 2,200 residents. As the community grew, so did the need for a larger space.
